Becomes the first ski area in Austria to adopt demand based dynamic pricing
Liftopia is excited to announce its first partnership in Austria with Rauriser Hochalmbahnen, located in the Rauris Valley in Salzburg.
By choosing to partner with Liftopia for the winter 19/20 ski season, Rauriser Hochalmbahnen becomes the first ski area in Austria to implement a dynamic pricing model for its lift tickets. Rauriser Hochalmbahnen is leading the way for new pricing strategies for ski areas in Austria.
“We’re thrilled not only to begin a partnership with Rauriser Hochalmbahnen, but to have them as our first partner in Austria,” says Dave Madden, VP Sales at Liftopia. “They are a forward thinking resort and we are confident they will execute well during their first season on the platform. This will pave the way for both pricing innovation and future partnerships in the region.”
After speaking with the Liftopia team, Siegfried Rasser, CEO Rauriser Hochalmbahnen, knew Liftopia would be the right partner.
“Liftopia’s many years of experience in the development of dynamic pricing strategies for ski resorts and the corresponding know-how were the most important reasons we decided to choose them as a partner,” said Rasser.
By implementing a dynamic pricing strategy, Rasser wants to make it more attractive for 1-day guests to visit the skiing area, increase skier days overall, and increase efficiency for guests and staff at the cash desk.
Heading into the 19/20 season, Liftopia now has 10 partners in Europe using its full-service e-commerce platform and dynamic pricing model. After a successful test of Liftopia’s platform during summer 2019, Beckenried-Emmetten will be using Cloud Store to sell winter products as well. Other resorts using Cloud Store this winter include: Arosa Lenzerheide, Crans Montana, Anzère, Val Cenis, Leysin, Villars-Gryon, Rotenfluebahn/Mythenregion, and the skiing area Ginals-Unterbäch with Eischoll.
Liftopia operates the largest online and mobile marketplace and resort technology platform serving the ski and mountain activity industry. Skiers and riders can purchase lift tickets, equipment rentals, meal vouchers and more from more than 250 ski areas in the U.S, Canada and Europe, with savings of up to 80% off walk-up window rates when purchased in advance. For businesses, Liftopia is the leading provider of dynamic pricing and e-commerce solutions for ski lift companies, water parks, and other attraction providers. Over the past 13 years, Liftopia developed the only e-commerce webshop solution (“Cloud Store”) with a revenue management model, data structure, and toolset explicitly focused on dynamic pricing. Founded in 2005, the company’s focus is to help its partners maximize online pre-sales, using dynamic pricing, where pricing responds to demand and changes over time for every day of the season.
